Tea parties get reality show

Program focuses on candidates running for office in midterms.

It's about time the tea parties got a reality show.

The first show to run on RightNetwork, a new channel targeting a conservative audience, will be a docudrama that follows candidates favored by the tea parties on the campaign trail.

"Running" may lack the element of surprise found in most reality shows, since viewers will know how the races end in advance. Several candidates featured on the program have already lost their primary bids. (Watch the pilot here.)

RightNetwork launched Wednesday and also includes stand-up comedy and a show with people playing poker while discussing politics.

Kelsey Grammer is one of the major investors in RightNetwork, which he hopes will fill an entertainment niche for fans of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.

"If you have NBC, ABC, you have entire networks flooded with a very particular point of view," he told the Associated Press. "They won't admit it, but it's clearly the way it is. There's plenty of room for us."
