Beck rally gets approval
Parks permit comes through for 300,000-person event.
Glenn Beck's upcoming National Mall demonstration has received the go-ahead from the National Parks Service.
The Restoring Honor rally, which is expected to draw 300,000 conservative activists to Washington, D.C., on the anniversary of the historic March on Washington, will take place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial August 28.
Earlier this week, reporters had noted that the Fox News host had not yet secured a permit for the event while counterprotesters had.
The event is being sponsored by the 9/12 Project and Mercury Radio Art, according to the issued permit. Beck has also doubled the number of expected attendees since making his initial request and changed the purpose of the rally from a "demonstration to honor veterans" to simply a "Restoring Honor rally."
