Congress.org users think the bill will overcome a potential Senate filibuster.
Congress.org users think the health-care bill will overcome a filibuster.
Since Tuesday night, nearly 900 users have made their predictions on how individual senators will vote on cloture for the health-care overhaul using our new Predict-a-Vote feature .
Overall, they predicted that 60 senators would support beginning debate on the bill, including Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe . Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman , who caucuses with the Democrats, was predicted to vote with Republicans against cloture.
Users saw eight senators as being less than certain votes:
* Along with Snowe, Democratic Sens. Evan Bayh , Mary Landrieu , Blanche Lincoln and Ben Nelson were predicted to vote for the bill, but significant percentages of users were doubtful.
* Along with Lieberman, Republican Sens. Susan Collins and George Voinovich were predicted to vote against the bill, again with significant dissent.
The overall predictions have remained stable since noon on Wednesday. Before then, the bill was predicted to fail, 58-42.
