Subject:
Immigration reform good and necessary but E-Verify Is BAD

Rep. John Culberson

I support immigration reform, but I am strongly opposed to intrusive programs like E-Verify. This program would determine who can and cannot work, including U.S. citizens. With the economy in the bad shape it is in,which could be very likely due to big government,E-Verify would be a dangerous curb on new employment that the economy and Americans themselves need. E-"Verify" would likely create a police-state,Orwellian bureaucracy.
I do support helping asylum seekers, including stopping many supposed "anti-terrorist" measures that could actually hurt refugees from countries where the government has been accused of supporting terrorism or where people were often coerced into supporting entities the U.S. government designates as "terrorist". I do support guest worker and amnesty programs and oppose persecuting immigrants.
