Universal Background Checks

Sen. Richard Blumenthal
Sen. Christopher Murphy
Rep. John Larson

February 20, 2013

I am responsible, law-abiding, gun owner and a very concerned voter. I am appalled at the proposed gun legislation in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, and I am very OPPOSED to any new legislation. I ask you to please focus on enforcing current laws and strengthening the NICS background check system.

I DO NOT SUPPORT a Universal Background Check. I do not think that it would be possible to implement such a check system without a nation registration of gun ownership. This registration opens the door to universal gun confiscation which would leave the american public without the means to protect themselves from both criminals and any future tyranny. Criminals who are currently breaking the laws will have no trouble breaking this new law and you will only strengthen the underground arms trade by implementing this legislation.

I DO NOT SUPPORT any legislation that would ban any type of firearm, magazine, or other accessory.

If you do not vote against all of those proposed pieces of legislation I will do everything in my power and take any political action unnecessary to make sure you do not get re-elected. I will not forget your voting record on these issues.
