Medicare argument that $1 paid in $3 taken out is incomplete

To:
Sen. John Cornyn
Sen. Ted Cruz
Rep. Joe Barton

March 10, 2013

I have been watching the Sunday morning political shows and decided to respond to the current argument that people are taking out $3 dollars for every $1 dollar put in. What the politicians don't admit and understand is that if the money put in was invested by capable people, then that $1 consistently put in over the life time of a particular individual would be worth much more than the $3 dollars taken out. The problem is that instead of it being an investment for a future need, the politicians on both side of the isle see it as money they can use today for the many other things they want to spend it on. This money should never be touched as it is not theirs. The same is true with Social Security. Leave the money alone. Quit robbing it. I do think that it needs to be taken out of pay checks because I know that there are those people out there who don't have the psychological ability to save money for a future event and want to spend and live for only today much like politicians.

GOD Bless America.
