I am supremely concerned of the recent discussion on further gun control efforts in Washington. The naive belief that it is at all possible to legislate against further gun violence in absurd. Does anyone really believe that criminals acquire weapons legally? If so, perhaps I can interest you in some real estate in Chernobyl?

Some of the discussion by both the President and other leaders in the Senate is simply unconstitutional. I understand that perhaps the President studied constitutional law at Harvard. This does not give him the right to dismiss it. SCOTUS has on several instances affirmed the right to bear arms. Furthermore they have furnished an opinion on several matters surrounding the intent of this right. It is not to support the right to hunt or go to the range. It is not only to defend ourselves from criminals, but also to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government. Yes, I said that word.

The efforts to legislate further gun control legislation are in fact in contradiction to your oath of office. I shouldn't have to remind you that you took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. The people voted you into office. The people rule this land, not you. Should there be a wish to amend the Constitution, I would suggest that you attempt to do so. Efforts to usurp the rights guaranteed by this document are neither legal or acceptable.
