Vote NO on Speaker Boehner's Continuing Resolution

Sen. Amy Klobuchar
Rep. Collin Peterson

March 6, 2013

I and many other Americans have HAD IT with the shena[expletive removed]ns of Congress in its persistence in kicking the can down the road in this fiscal irresponsibility instead of cutting spending and putting government on a balanced budget.

I demand that you vote "NO" on Speaker Boehner's Continuing Resolution, which does nothing to solve a financial mess, but rather seeks to protect political careers and the perquisites of power. I note that:

uuu The Continuing Resolution does not cut a DIME of federal spending.

There's no question Boehner's CR will almost assuredly be loaded down with new spending in the Senate, but Boehner isn't even starting off his negotiations with President Obama or Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid with a request for a single budget cuti

uuu The Continuing Resolution funds ObamaCare.

Ever since ObamaCare was rammed into law, its s2.6 TRILLION price tag and overbearing regulations have been threatening to destroy the economy. With his majority in the U.S. House, Boehner could simply REFUSE to fund ObamaCare's implementation. Instead, Boehner would rather run from that fight.

uuu The Continuing Resolution funds Dodd-Frank.

Just weeks ago, U.S. News and World Report ran a story entitled "io ways Dodd-Frank will hurt the economy in 2oie," where they predicted the bill would sow the seeds of the next financial crisis. House Speaker John Boehner and the House Republicans should be DEFUNDING this monstrosity.

You as well as anyone know that the nation is si6.6 TRILLION in debt.

Unemployment has been INCREASING, even after all of the "solutions" statists in BOTH parties have rammed into law these past few years. Surely you must understand that LESS government meddling, and not more, is the answer, and that no country could survive indefinitely the incredibly profligate overspending of our wasteful government.

Once again, I demand that you vote "NO" on Speaker Boehner's Continuing Resolution, which does nothing to solve a financial mess, that you defund all of the burdensome taxes and laws that attend Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, and every other statist scheme attempting to plan every aspect of our lives.
