Postal Service Saturday Delivery

Sen. Marco Rubio
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz

February 6, 2013

I strongly support stopping Saturday delivery for the US Postal Service. The union's claims that it will hurt businesses are self-serving and incorrect. Unless the package is overnight, there will probably be no delay. Additionally, the USPS should eliminate Thursday and Tuesday delivery. The USPS hemorraghes money and they could still make exceptions or packages or overnight delivery. The postal carriers could do other jobs on off days and it may even improve efficiency. I know this may seem like a drastic plan, but it makes sense when most letters take several days to get to their destination and are most mail items are not time-sensitive within a day, which is the largest delay that would occur. Thank you for your time.
