I am a single parent, I am currently a senior a Mercer University. I have maintained a GPA of 3.9 and have been informed that during spring break the Ga House of Representatives have passed a version of proposed budget that will reduce the Tuition Equalization Grant by 28% and this will cut my TEG from $700.00 to $500.00 dollars. I find this to be completely unacceptable. I do not understand how this is going to help. I have a hard enough time paying for college as it is without losing any sort of funding. It makes very little since to cut the funding of students who put in the time and effort to maintain a high GPA so that we can subsidize the students who can barely maintain a 2.0 GPA. I am asking you to reconsider the funding cuts to students who work so hard at their education.
