In formulating the next budget, please do not cut the Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid programs! The Federal deficit is already shrinking rapidly, and it would be wrong to create further hardship for the vast majority of the American people who rely on these programs.
During the financial crisis, the government went to great lengths to bail out Wall Street, which is now resurgent. If you must reduce the deficit even faster than it is already shrinking, that is the place to look for relief, via increased revenues and reductions in corporate welfare.
Last November, most Americans voted for the candidates who promised preservation of our major social programs, as already modified by the Affordable Care Act. If we are now betrayed, in the off year, I believe it will not be forgotten, and will cost the Democratic Party dearly in the next election.
