Voter ID laws hang in balance as Supreme Court considers Voting Rights Act
Recently, the Federal government announced that it will no longer issue paper checks. The government will require all recipients to obtain a direct deposit account and debit card to utilize funds. This process, I assume, will require some form of picture identification to set up. If this is the case, then any objections to picture ID's to verify voters are irrelevant. If citizens are required to have a picture ID to receive assistance from the government, then they should have one to verify their right to vote. The only logical reason anyone would object to voter ID laws would be that they are benefiting from voter fraud.
