Due to tragic events that have taken place in this country, many people have allowed the emotional response of the events to overwhelm their logic and reasoning. Much like when a person or persons are involved in an automobile accident, it becomes difficult to think clearly until the adrenaline wears-off.
Adding gun-laws may "seem" like a good thing to some at the time, but later on when it has done little to curb gun-violence, the mistakes will be apparent.
As Vice-President Biden said - "Nothing we're going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to 1,000 a year from what it is now." - Adding more legislation to long list of existing laws, will do little to curb gun violence. But it is guaranteed to hurt and affect millions of law-abiding, tax-paying - and perhaps most importantly to Washington - voting citizens.
Any such measures will not only do little to curb gun-violence, but it will negatively affect those millions of citizens who will make their displeasure known come mid-term elections and in 2016.
I am optimistically certain that our lawmakers will choose to strengthen convictions of violent felons, improve mental health care and other measures to reduce or eliminate gun-violence in this nation without blaming or attacking the law-abiding citizens.
No "High-cap magazine" bad
No "Assault weapons" ban
No "Universal background check" registration)
No more laws that target the lawful
