Discrimination in the School System with Disable Students
Why is Medical Diagnosis an Issue for (M.D.C.P.S.)
When the parents bring new medical diagnosis to their child's school, the SCHOOL SYSTEM avoids to do this changes on their IEP's. The reason why they do this? Well in my case, they just kept on saying they couldn't change it, just because. After that excuse, I brought another medical record from a different doctor, they said that they had to do their own evaluations, and so on... This is the time and I am still waiting for this evaluations and my son has all this diagnosis from his doctors and none of them are on his IEP, not even one of them, this is incredible. Actually, this is very bad because this is not only affecting the child's health and behavior, but the childs family since he is not receiving the right accomodations and he is not in the right placement. Why not to give this childs the right to receive what they mecally need. If there is any parents that are going thru something like this please reply, this is very important. I belive this is the only way for others to understand that our children are part of the future of this country and we need to protect them from this kind of discriminations.
