Hello and thank you very much for being concerned by the health care reform bills (amazingly there are now four of them and who knows maybe more later, HR3200, S1679, S1796 and now HR3962). The focus of this post is on H.R.3962, The "affordable" Health care for America. So far, I have not been able to find specifics in this bill, I am talking about findings in dollar figures, data comparing the cost of health care plans today to those after if the bill was enacted, to show this affordability. For uninsured and under insured, it would not be affordable, it would be free by way of government subsidy. For people who have a health plan, it would not be affordable because when you factor in the price of the bill, estimated by the CBO(Congressional Budget Office) and the JCT(Joint Committee on Taxation), to about $1.05 trillion over ten years(To be paid in part by high incomes), to my view the rest would have to be paid by all tax payers(unless perhaps all the wars US is involved in were stopped and we use that money to pay for it). My view is that the first priority is to put unemployed American Citizens to work, providing them with the means to pay for their health insurance and then can a more efficient health care system be designed. Please take action by contacting your Representatives as soon as you finish reading this post by asking them to oppose this bill. Instructions on how to contact your US congressional members will be at the end of this page. This bill, H.R.3962, more than the previous three other related bills, is in some ways a mega Omnibus bills for a host of measures vested interest groups could not pass in previous congresses. One key area that has been fought by insurance companies to keep the premiums at a low level is the blockade of the mental health parity bill along with the "Mothers" act. This bill also has included unnecessary screening of citizens for mental health diseases proposed in the "President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health". All of which are being pushed by the Pharma and mental health practitioners(psychiatrists and psychologists). Instead of handling the issues at hand, the inclusion of these old failed bills and acts in the current proposed health care reform bills would contribute to the increase in insurance costs and in the long run, more taxes. Here is why: Beware hidden costs to the taxpayers not presented in H.R.3962; it would mandate the mental health parity (Sec. 214); which has been long before opposed by insurance companies because of the increase in premiums caused by numerous reasons. For instance mental health practitioners mainly treat people by prescribing powerful mind altering drugs with a host of side effects. These side effects are sometimes very harmful and deadly and cost more money to the taxpayers. Case in point is Eli Lilly's Zyprexa law suits: a. One of the major disaster is the illegal marketing of the drug(Zyprexa) where Eli Lilly lost about the $1.4 billion law suit for causing around 28,000cases of diabetes as reported on this site

b. Alaska lawsuit where Eli Lilly officials admit hiding Zyprexa side effects including diabetes as reported on this web site

exa-suit/ c. And finally but not last, New Hampshire State Representative Alfred P. Baldasaro and his colleagues requesting State Attorney General Kelly Ayotte to consider a civil action against Atypical Antipsychotic drug manufactures in the following letter at
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Atypical_Antipsychot...
This is what is known for just one drug where Eli Lilly in connivance with mental health practitioners(acting as drug pushers) have been harming citizens in the name of treatment; the full scope of damages that must be paid by taxpayers in this new health care reform, if passed, is unimaginable. This bill, H.R.3962 does not take into account the cost associated with the mental health fraud of running out citizen's insurance by prescribing drugs. The price is virtually unlimited if these drug pushers are allowed to bill patients ad infinitum since this bill would eliminate lifetime limits(Sec. 109). If the Peanut Corporation of America was forced to shut down on 2/13/2009 for causing only about 714 known cases of salmonella outbreak from this web page (

why is that Eli Lilly continues to sell Xyprexa which is even proven to cause more harm(28,000 cases of diabetes) and contribute to the escalation of the health care spending? To me this is one of the greatest case of corruption in the administration and should at once be stopped, certainly not be included in the health care reform bills. One more crucial element to oppose H.R.3962 is that it is being pushed by vested interest groups and related businesses that are known for fraud. The recent one is Omnicare to Pay $98 Million to Settle Charges in Drug Maker Kickback Case as seen on this web page
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB2000142405274870329400457...
Omnicare Inc. previous fraud case, OMNICARE, INC. TO PAY $49.5 MILLION TO UNITED STATES AND 43 STATES TO SETTLE MEDICAID PRESCRIPTION DRUG FRAUD ALLEGATIONS as shown on this web page
http://www.pharmacyfraudsettlement.com/Omnicare/Omnicare-...
and a lot more other numerous cases of fraud is a reasonable cause to kill this bill. For these and many other reasons not mentioned herein, please, please ask your members of congress to introduce the following amendments to H.R.3962 in case it is not killed: A. Delete Title II, Subtitle B, Section 214. Nondiscrimination in benefits, parity in mental health and substance abuse disorder benefits. B. Delete Title III, Section 1308 and Section 1309. Coverage of marriage and family therapist services and mental health counselor services. C. Delete Sec. 2529. Postpartum Depression. D. Delete Sec. 1904. Grants to States for quality home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children. E. Delete SEC. 2511. SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CLINICS. F. Delete SEC. 2513. FEDERALLY QUALIFIED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTERS. G. Delete SEC. 112. )(3) BEHAVIORAL CHANGE COMPONENT. Everyone reading this post who is a civic responsible citizen should take action right away for we cannot afford not only to loose people to the Pharma and the psychiatrists/psychologists, but also pay for it. PLEASE TAKE ACTION NOW. TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES THAT YOU WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM IF THEY DO NOT OPPOSE H.R. 3962. To contact your US Representatives click on this link and enter your ZIP code
