Support justice, human rights, and peace!

Ever since, Israel has blocked sufficient food and medicines, building supplies and components for Gaza's electrical system from getting in, leaving 1.5 million people in misery as winter comes on. I visited Gaza in July. The devastation I witnessed was overwhelming The UN assigned a fact-finding commission to investigate, and placed Judge Richard Goldstone in charge. Despite Goldstone's close personal and family ties to Israel, he and the commission produced an excellent, 575-page, scathing description of all war crimes that took place during the conflict, detailing how Israel had deliberately targeted civilians (and also describing the far smaller number of crimes that Palestinian resistance fighters had committed). Americans should be helping the people of Gaza and working to bring peace and justice to the region, not blocking international efforts to reign in Israeli militarism and violence. For more information go to the "If Americans Knew" website and our news blog "Israel-Palestine: The Missing Headlines," where you will read Goldstone's rebuttal to 867 and Congressman Brian Baird's excellent analysis.
