The House of Representatives is planning to vote this weekend on a major overhaul (HR 3962 ) of the health care system.
We the People are concerned about the costs.
The bill is nearly 2,000 pages long, but here are 7 points of contention (there are many more).
1. The coverage mandate. By 2013, everyone would have to have insurance or face a penalty tax of 2.5 percent for a portion of their income. Exemptions would be given for those with a very low income.
That 2.5% may sound like nothing to you rich out of touch people, but for most Americans, that will be the difference between eating 1 meals a day or doing without. What about those of us that are just barely hanging on by our fingernails? Guess you want to stomp on our fingers until we fall into the welfare abyss that we will never be able to get back out of. So it is begging to appear that your goal all along has been to push as many people onto welfare as possible, keep them there at all costs. Effectively enslaving an entire nation. How can you look at yourself in the mirror knowing the death and destruction you are about to unleash against the American people?Take a step back and look at what you are doing. This bill is anti-America and anti-American. That will make you a traitor if you support it!
2. The business mandate. By 2013, companies would be required to offer coverage to employees or make a contribution to a pool that offers coverage. By then many more business will have fled America (of course, thanks to you this won't be America anymore), for some other less oppressive regime, like China, Russia, or North Korea. Best of all solution's would be for all of congress to leave and move to one of the above countries, if they would have them!
3. The public option. By 2013, a government health insurance plan would be offered and run by the Department of Health and Human Services. Rates would be negotiated with providers but couldn't be lower than Medicare payment rates.
Sure another government bureaucracy to screw thing up worse, just like our government can't run medicare, medicaid, or the Native American Indian Heals Service (there money is always gone by June). Medicare/medicaid is so rampant with fraud we may never find the end of it.
4. Pre-existing conditions. Insurance companies would be prohibited from denying or reducing coverage based on pre-existing conditions.
Most Reputable (key word there) insurance companies do cover for pre-existing conditions after the person(s) has had the policy for 1 year.
5. Abortion. The essential benefits package could not include coverage for abortions, except in cases of rape, incest or threat to the woman's life. Insurance companies could offer abortion coverage, but could only use private premium dollars (without any subsidies) for that coverage.
In a government run health care program as Pelosi/Reid are trying to cram down our throats, there would be no private agency that could fund abortions, therefore they will be paid for with taxpayer monies Of coarse aborting as many babies as possible fall right into this regime's eugenicist views!
6. Prescription drug coverage. The so-called doughnut hole that requires Medicare patience to pay for prescription drugs up to a point before coverage is reinstated would be phased out by 2019.
The so-called do nut hole isn't really a problem as walmart and other stores that have pharmacies in them came up with a great solution...$4 prescriptions. There are many other innovative ideas out there that would work, but are stifled by the government. So who are the ones that really care about the American people? The ones who find innovative solutions to the problems, or the ones that stifle that innovation?
7. Taxes. In 2010, a tax surcharge of 5.4 percent would be imposed on incomes of $500,000 for individuals or $1 million for households. A 2.4 percent excise tax would be imposed on the sale or lease of medical equipment.
So now it shows that the 2.5% punitive tax wasn't punitive enough so you must now resort to stealing even more money. When will this robbery of the American people stop? What nefarious plan is behind the scenes for when you have forcibly driven hard working Americans into poverty stricken homelessness? Is that when you send out the goon squads to round us up imprison us, torture us (because you like torturing people), then what? Do you start murdering us as "drains on the limited resources of America?"
