Dear Representative Dave Reichert,
Please vote in FAVOR of HR 3961.
I live and vote in your district. I am a Family Physician and teach Family Medicine residents at Valley Medical Center.
HR 3691 would replace Medicare's Sustainable Growth Rate formula for physician payment with a superior system which would:
Not require an SGR fix every year.
Allow medical services to grow at GDP plus 1% (compared to GDP + 0%)
Allow primary and preventive care to grow at GDP + 2%
Encourage coordinated care through Accountable Care Organizations
The SGR seriously affects Medicare patient's access to care. HR 3961 will insure continued access and also seeks to IMPROVE QUALITY OF CARE and DECREASE MEDICARE COSTS.
Please urge consideration of HR 3961 immediately after the House vote on HR 3962, the comprehensive health care reform proposal. Then please vote in FAVOR of HR 3961.
