Health Care Reform

Rep. Jim Gerlach

I am asking you to vote NO on the Health Care Reform Bill. There is no way that government should legislate this except to find ways that make it easier for private industry insurance companies to compete across state lines. I realize that only Rep. Gerlach will be voting on this now but it's important that each of you know where I stand on this important issue.
Politicians are pre-disposed to legislating everything for everyone. The problem, of course, is that there is a cost to every piece of legislation. We can no longer afford those kinds of policies. Please look at what you can cut out of the country's budget that would save us money and get us back on track financially as a nation. The result of continued legislation and fiscal stimulation is that we will be a third world country some day soon.
We as the tax paying public have lost all faith in our government doing the right thing. The Federal Government screws up everything it touches. You've heard this a million times before but Washington needs to take it to heart: government isn't the solution, government is the problem.
Senator Casey - I appreciate your supporting vote on the Thune Amendment for Concealed Firearms. For the rest of you gentlemen, I will consider giving up my guns when you can show me that you have disarmed the criminals first-not me first and then them.
