Loophole: Free golf carts under Obama's stimulus plan

Rep. Jim Gerlach

November 6, 2009

WSJ just had an article on how people are exploiting a loop hole in the Fed tax credits on electric vehicles hta tis part of the stimulus package.

FREE GOLF CARTS! courtesy of the American taxpayer.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424...

At least I hope this was/is an unintended use of this credit.

I know the tax is code is being used more and more for income re-distribution taking from some to give to others - something which in any other venue would be called stealling) but this loophole one has crossed this practice from what you guys seem to rationalize as robin-hood like stealing into the ridiculous. I'm sorry, it is bad enough to be forced to support the poor, disabled and old - (many of whom could still work and if our ecomonic system in its core paid reasonable, and in context i.e.what it takes to live, wages to all then this robin-hood-ness would not be necessary.

But to be paying for some fat cat to play golf is another matter entirely.

"Cash for Clubbers" [WSJ] is simply beyong the pale and outrageous!

Please close this loophole immediately.
