Remember this, that there is only one thing in this world lower than a lawyer and that is a lawyer that is a politician. As the colloquial goes for my people, they speak with a fork tongue. I for one would like to see the Bill that Republicans have just put forward that the Democrats have suppressed and I would like to compare the two Bills to see which one addresses the problems and needs and wishes of the American Citizens best. In plain English I say Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Kerry, Schummer, Dodd, Franks, Hoyer, are all liars, and worst I feel they are un American Progressive Socialist Communist working against the interests of the American Citizens and the United States I'm and Independent Voter and that is what I see.
"It isn't about Health Insurance Health Care
The Democrats and President Obama created a crisis in order to convince voters that we must do something about health care NOW.
In the beginning the crisis was that 49 million Americans do not have health INSURANCE. They failed to tell voters that many of those are illegal aliens, or young people that choose not to purchase health insurance..
The real figure is somewhere around 10-15 million Americans who want health care and either can't afford it or have been turned down because of health problems..
Had the House stuck to their original "crisis" and made sure that through tax credits and or subsidies that those individuals who want health insurance can get it we would not be looking at a trillion dollar program that increases everyone's premiums and taxes our insurance premiums paid by employers as well as all health related products such as oxygen and wheel chairs etc.
The Democrats are using fear and lies to gain more power and control over individual Americans lives.
All could be fixed by doing the following and it would be much cheaper to implement.
1. When leaving an employer the individual can take their policy with them and continue paying the rate the company was charged or switch the policy to one that they can afford.
2. Insurance should be portable and be able to be purchased by anyone in any state.
3. Subsidies for catastrophic insurance for those that can't afford health insurance will be paid by grants given to the state Medicaid program and the individual states will contract with the health insurance companies to provide that insurance at a mutually agreed rate. Individuals not on Medicaid but receiving subsidies will have the option to purchase more services based on their needs at a cost previously agreed in the same contract.
4. Individual policies cannot be cancelled or denied because of health problems and the individual cannot be charged more for premiums because of health conditions. Once the individual uses more than a previously agreed upon cap they will go into a high risk group. Insurance companies will cover a percentage of these individuals based on their company size. The government will subsidize these premiums by paying the difference between the catastrophic insurance policy and the highest rate an individual can be charged for insurance.
5. Insurance premiums may be based on lifestyle such as obesity smoking and drinking. A surcharge can be attached to anyone in these high risk groups. Those receiving subsidies will pay the surcharge individually.
6 Individuals that choose not to purchase healthcare must open a medical savings account and contribute the amount that a catastrophic insurance policy and any deductibles and a surcharge for converting it to a policy would cost.. In the event that the individual needs to convert their medical savings account to a catastrophic insurance policy because of accident or injury a surcharge based on health care costs can be charge up to 20%. The individual can choose to contribute to this account and use anything contributed in addition to the amount mandated for the policy surcharge and deductable can be used by the individual for health care without activating the insurance policy.
7.. No premiums subsidized by the government can cover abortions.
8. No subsidized premiums can be made to non citizens. Immigrants who have valid work visas may purchase individual policies if insurance companies choose to offer them."
