Defeat the 1990 page monster.
To: Rep. Lynn Westmoreland
November 5, 2009
Sir,
Please continue to work to defeat the 1,990 page reform bill that is being proposed by the house. It is not a good piece of legislation and if passed it will not be good for the people of our country.
The reforms listed below would provide better patient treatment and lower healthcare costs.
•Computerized Medical Records for Patients
•National Medical ID - people who go to the hospital swipe a card that gives doctors their basic medical information and billing information, this will lower administrative costs
•Hospitals have electronic health records system this would provide enhanced medical care while reducing costs
•Doctors have electronic health records system this would provide enhanced medical care while reducing costs
•No state border restrictions of competition between insurance companies this will open up competition in some states and reduce costs
•Federal catastrophic care coverage - no forced bankruptcies over emergency medical care or one time life saving style procedures
•Published healthcare costs so patients can choose the medical options that fit their budget
•Bring down the cost of medical malpractice by placing caps on jury award of doctors found guilty of malpractice - criminal prosecution of truly neglectful and intentional hurtful practices
Thank you
McDonough , GA
