Dear Sirs:
I am writing to urge you to SUPPORT HR 3962 -
But NOT in its current form. The Public Option is TOO WEAK.
PLEASE SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS:
(and my support, now and in the future, will depend ENTIRELY on your performance on Health Care Reform.)
The Public Option, and the Exchange, MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ALL.
If they are not, you must NOT pass a personal mandate, or any subsidies!
The risk pool would be FAR too smakk to keeo Insurance COmpanies forom rauising premiums through the roof.
You know this. Those premiums have already all but broken the country,
and are TEN TIMES what the average American can pay.
If a STRONG - VERY STRONG- Public Option is not passed,
YOU MUST REMOVE THESE HEALTH INSURANCE INDUSTRY WINDFALLS from the bill!
President Obama must BREAK WHATEVER HEADS ARE NECESSARY to prevent the bills from being watered down in the Senate. Threaten Lieberman (and any others) with Pripmary Opponents, and the immediate removal of campaign support and their chairmanships, and DO IT IF THEY REFUSE.
Make no mistake: The entirety of the Health Care Crisis in this country is due to one thing only.
The current cost of Health Care - and not the "curve" or whatever - has been allowed through Insurance and other Industry GREED to rise to TEN TIMES what Americans, Business and government can afford to pay. Every decision about "Reform" devolves from, and must first and foremost "reform," THAT.
WHY did My President, for whom I voted,
- Take Single Payer off the table?
- Sell out our right to negiotiate with a Drug Industry that overcharges America, whose tax breaks and educational institutions support its R&D?
Other countries have proven the ONLY way to cut costs SIGNIFICANTLY is to REMOVE all private profit from Health Care.
STOP CODDLING AND BEING CORRUPTED BY THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY.
If you pass a WEAK bill, it will go very, VERY badly for Dems and ALL INCUMBENTS in the elections.
A "Public Option" will never reduce costs enough unless it has the largest possible risk pool.
(A ten million person pool is laughably ineffective, and will fail almost immediately.)
A partial or weak approach of ANY kind will only fail, as the Liberal party is at its peak and will only lose power.
Republicans may hint whatever they want, but you know they will NEVER
-not even Sen. Snow!- deviate from the one hundred percent, ABSOLUTE party line-
to "kill Obama's chances (of victory or its appearance) at ANY cost"
A "Trigger" approach of any kind, only allows Insurance to accrue even bigger profits,
up to the day it has the power to squelch the entire system, economically and politically.
For these two reasons, Democrats MUST be as aggressive as possible
-DAMN the politics- and the cost!
and do whatever is necessary to pass MEANINGFUL Health care for ALL, IMMEDIATELY, and WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS.
MEDICARE FOR ALL - HR 676 as the public option in HR 3962,
No more deductibles.
No more copays.
no more exclusions of ANY kind.
All claims paid,
and within five days (as in Switzerland) OR NO PREMIUM.
If Medicare (instead of the Insurance Companies !) were given all the mandated newly insureds,
instead of covering ONLY the elderly (who are the most expensive,) even this outrageously RAIDED "fund" would be solvent again!
(and admit -and reverse- the RAIDING of Medicare/SS which would then STILL produce a SURPLUS.) In this even "OUR"administration is lying to the public, stealing their money for decades, and the cat is out of the bag about why "entitlements are going broke."
It's the G.F. that's "breaking" entitlements - nothing else!
We need REAL, government (not private!) LOCKBOXES for these huge and VERY solvent funds. Separate and protect them!
This is the richest county in the world.
CItizens in most countries (POORER than the US)
NEVER SEE A MEDICAL BILL - CRADLE TO GRAVE.
If they can "afford" it - we can afford even BETTER.
