H.R. 3962
To: Rep. Chet Edwards
November 3, 2009
Members of Congress,
The members of congress, the President and others are missing the mark on H.R. 3962. This bill is not a bill to improve the quality of health care but rather to enhance and make more affordable health care insurance. It has nothing to do with reducing the cost of health care. Congress should be working on a bill that will reduce the cost of health care. If the cost of health care comes down the cost of health insurance will also come down. H.R. 3962 will not reduce the cost of health care and in my opinion is more likely to raise the cost of health care. Congress should build a bill that will cap the profits of health care to no more than 10% across the board. This will make health care affordable to everyone and not cost the federal government a dime. The health care stockholders may not like it but who cares??
Another concern of mine is that H.R. 3962 will use private and federal premiums to pay for abortions. Nobody should be forced to pay for abortions.
Also, I am concerned that this bill will remove the conscience clause for the medical providers so that they will not be able to refuse certain procedures that are against their conscience.
On Medicare part D, healthy people should not have to pay a penalty for not signing up for part D. If healthy people do not have to take medicine, why do they have to join a plan??
Want to make Social Security solvent?? Remove the cap on SS taxes. This is a simple and painless way to make SS viable for many years to come.
