We are elderly, low-income people in fragile health living in a roach-infested apartment. This has been going on for several years with roach population increasing almost daily. Property manager is not going to take care of this or any of our maintenance issues. We let this go for a long time because we've already had aone retaliatory rent increase for refusing tro sign a lease because of the lack of maintenance and the roach infestation and fear another. When we finally got the nerve to risk aanother rent increse and callled code enforcement , you can imagine our shock at finding out that a compaint had been made (NOT by us) and that code enforcement knew that our unit is fine because their response to the complaint was to call the property manager who assured them that things are fine. It seems clear that we will get no help from that quarter....they did not attempt to contac us, just accepted the word of Ms. Sheryl Craig, the assistant property manager. The roaches are in our food, refrigerator, furniture, electronics and on US.. We see no way out and suffer from anxiety and depression constatntlyMy husband is a disabled veteran, and he, at least deserves better.
