Subject:
EPA Funding
To: Sen. George LeMieux

I fail to see how you, as a Floridian, can vote against funding for the Environmental Protection Agency. As Floridians, we share a heritage that includes the Everglades, the Florida Keys, and the dunes of northern Florida that are but small fragments of a rich environmental heritage that deserves protection.
We as Floridians must protect this heritage for our sons and daughters to enjoy as we have. Furthermore, we must protect those sons and daughters from the adverse affects on humans of environmental depredations.
Clearly, your vote of "no" for EPA funding is a product of partisan politics, which must end, now, if we as a state and a nation are to move forward in the 21st century in terms of the environment, health care, public policy and a host of other issues.
Sir, you may be an appointee, but until your period of service expires, you represent the citizens of Florida. Those citizens are concerned about protecting the natural beauty and sanctity of Florida's wetlands, pine flatwoods, oak hummocks, its diverse wildlife and its sparkling white sands. Furthermore, they are concerned about clean drinking water, unpolluted soil, clean air, and the regulation of harmful byproducts of our postindustrial society.
Please set aside your partisanship in favor of listening to the voters who want Florida's environment protected.
