Subject:
Climate Change / Cap and Tax Legislation

The subject legislation, in all the varied forms that are currently being discussed on Capitol Hill, are out of step with the wishes of the majority of citizens of the Unites States of America as well as in conflict with the limitation of enumerated authorities and the 10th Amendment to the Constitution. Clearly, the continued discussion of the currently proposed legislation, in its many forms, demonstrates that Congress is out-of-control and non-representative of the wishes of the electorate (in view of the many town hall meetings held over the summer break).
This legislation is based on a hypothesis that climate change is man-made and/or controllable by the efforts of mankind. This proposition is unsubstantiated by good scientific method. The statement of some that certain scientists "are in consensus" with this hypothesis, does not constitute good scientific method since scientific method does not involve consensus, but rather hypothesis testing supported with empirical data (i.e., FACTS).
Furthermore, our citizens overwhelmingly like the benefits of free-market capitalism available in our country. What they are concerned with are the effects of continued encroachment by the government and its bureaucracies into the free-market and the resulting explosion of costs to business and ultimately the consumer. These costs are not only in the form of processing and distribution, but are also in the form of reduced jobs, and increased unemployment that will, in no way, be offset by new "green jobs".
The change that our citizens really want does not include change to "free-market capitalism" per se and does not include increased government intrusion into the "free-market".
Conservation of our resources, through responsible drilling, mining, refining and use, is a given. Environmentalism is a tool of the enemies of free-market capitalism, and our Nation. While the goal of the former is to foster responsible use of our God-given resources, the goal of the latter is, ultimately, to stop all usage of our resources and thereby destroy our economy, our Nation, and Civilization. Cap and Tax plays into the hand of the latter.
If you vote in favor of this or any other of this type legislation, you will be violating your oath of office and stripping the citizens of our nation of their God-given Rights that are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights!
Conclusion:
1) Abandon Cap and Tax.
2) To move toward making our Nation energy independent, the immediate changes desired are in the areas of reducing environmental and other government regulations that stifle the development, extraction, refining and use of oil, gas, coal, and nuclear energy resources within the borders of the United States of America.
Please be mindful of your duty to represent your constituents and uphold the Constitution of the United States. Thank-you.
