Sir; I am in favor of Healthcare Reform, but not at the expense of Medicare. I would rather see Medicare expanded to cover the uninsured than to see Medicare robbed to fund a new govt program. The Medicare Advantage Programs are the best thing going in Medicare right now; I have read that part of the healthcare reform bill involves cutting the funding for these program. That is unfortunate. However, we are the only developed nation where healthcare is not considered a right. This needs to be corrected; I have no problem with a public option as long as there are guidelines as to income and such in order to keep it out of direct competition with the regular insurance companies. Such an option should be limited to the poor who have no insurance, or the working poor who cannot afford it, etc. In no way should public monies fund health care for illegal aliens.
