BUST UP THE BIG BANKS
To: Sen. Tom Harkin
November 2, 2009
Bust up the big banks (those banks too big too fail) like the UK has done. Lets take CITI or AIG as examples. If you were to break them up into three or more logical pieces then give the original shareholders a thid share or a fourth share in each of the smaller companies. The stockholders aren't hurt. . . . They retain their investments better than what happened with CIT. . . and it spreads their risk . . . . also better for the tax payers who would other wise be stuck with the bill if they stay too big to fail and then do.
