Dear Sir and Madam,
My first choice is to have a single payer system, and now even the public option is getting weaker and weaker.
If we can't have single payer, WE ATLEAST WANT A STRONG, MEDICARE LIKE PUBLIC OPTION!!!
Here is my situation:
I have a job that gives me healthcare, but my husband, a carpenter, does not. In order to include him on my insurance, it would cost us $500./month!
It's outrageous. That's about half my monthly take home pay. We could buy a really nice new hybrid electric car for that.
We are both hard workers, own our own home (we built it ourselves) and never carry debt. We save and pay as we go. If something were to happen to my husband, we could lose everything.
We were counting on a decent medicare styled health plan, but each day, we get worse news on the scant choices we may have to choose from.
If we can't have single payer, WE ATLEAST WANT A STRONG, MEDICARE LIKE PUBLIC OPTION!!!
Thank you for your time.
