Subject:
The Currently " Proposed Public Options" ARE NOT The Options of the Public.
To: Sen. Russ Feingold
November 2, 2009
Mr. Feingold.............
I want to believe that your support for healthcare reform represents the will of your constituents... NOT an ideological, partisan position. I've been a democrat for most of my 60+ years and am now at a crossroads as to any party affiliation. I can no longer defend or support any of the public option proposals made by the democrats in both the house and senate. Enactaction of additional entitlements does not appear to be fiscally sound.... especially with the enormous deficit we currently face... Continued funding for new feel-good programs, with money we do not even have can only lead to financial ruin. Why is this not apparent in Washington?
Please explain to me why increasing the deficit to pay for something we cannot afford is sound fiscal policy? Nothing in any of the proposed bills in the house or senate addresses the fundemental problems we face with our broken healthcare system. There are no definitive reductions to the rising costs born by the average American family. And it is difficult find any proposal that addresses the root problems of access and affordability. The only notable reduction appears to be with Medicare cuts which will negatively impact the access and quality of healthcare for American senior citizens.
I ask that you NOT support any of the current public option proposals.
