Saying "NO"

To:
Sen. John Ensign
Rep. Dean Heller

October 31, 2009

We oppose the current government-run health care proposals being crafted in back-room deals by Senate and House Democrats and we urge you to vote"No."

Government should not impose a health insurance mandate on the American people. According to the Congressional Budget Office, such a mandate would be "an unprecedented form of federal action..." since "the government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States." The oppressive mandate is even worse than the "public option" and makes this, by definition, a government-run system.

We cannot support a health care plan that co-opts our rights as citizens and forces us to embrace an individual mandate while putting the government at the center of health care by imposing the so-called public option. Listen to the voice of Americans who are demanding you REJECT this mad dash toward socialized health care.

Please know that we are carefully monitoring your actions regarding this bill.
