UHC - Risk Pool Size must include ALL

Rep. Alan Mollohan

October 29, 2009

Dear Sirs:

If I knew it, your professional expertise MUST always have known it as well.

I mean this politically as well as economically -
and the logical conclusion of this is truly dire.

1.) - Health Care Reform can ONLY be passed through Reconciliation.

(The bribery of the Insurance Industry, indeed that of the entire Health CAre Industry, is practically insurmountable as Mr. Obama has proven by capitulating to Pharma, getting NOTHING in return! This is a dire and cataclysmic realization about our government, that will have unpredictably enormous ramifications from the public as they become aware of the corruption of government by business in general. How much more so - and to currently obvious disastrous results - that of the BANKS, which means, The 12 PRIVATE, UNTAXED banks of the FED.)

2.) - It is meaningless unless there is a public option with a risk pool consisting of ALL Americans - or there will be huge premium increases, and disastrous, terminal consequences for the Democratic Party and ALL incumbents for decades to come.

3.) - The only truly economical result will be if Medicare is expanded as available for all to choose.
(That would create a risk pool that doesn't't consist entirely of expensive Seniors.)

4.) McCarran-Ferguson, the antitrust exemption, MUST be repealed.
(Whatever WERE they thinking? Bad enough they stopped enforcing antitrust for all.)

5.) - Politically speaking, whoever wins this, will be the party in power certainly for MY lifetime. Missing even one of these points is a guaranteed loss.

Any politician incapable of the reasoning to have understood and reached these conclusions immediately, should NOT be serving and certainly not governing, us - The American People, of all parties and persuasions.
