I have called your offices and left messages and I am sending this to you, also. I have sent the following to President Obama and am sending it to all of my Representatives in Congress.
For eight long years, the Bush-Cheney Administration politicized the Department of Justice and pursued politically motivated prosecutions all across the country.
It infused the Justice Department with Rove-anointed, Bush-appointed officials who put politics ahead of the law -- including many of the 93 U.S. Attorneys -- like Leura Canary, the wife of Karl Rove's best friend and business partner who said he got Rove to get the DOJ to come after Gov. Don Siegelman.
When President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder took office, we expected real change. That means ending the Bush-Rove politically motivated prosecutions with no basis in fact and restoring the integrity of the Department of Justice.
Still, after seven months, only a handful of the hundreds of Bush-Rove DOJ appointees have been replaced. That's unacceptable. It's time to clean house of all the Bush-Rove appointees in the Justice Department, including all 93 U.S. Attorneys, and ensure justice for all.
I urge President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to act.
I cannot believe that this is even an issue! Why haven't ALL of the Bush minions been replaced? What is this administration doing? Where is the CHANGE? Mr. President you are losing us, your base. Why are you making us sorry that we fought so hard for you and voted for you? Between all of the damage that the Bush administration did and the fact that you are continuing most of it, we are losing faith in you. The wars, letting Beck fire Van Jones who is probably the best guy for the job, Gitmo, Weak health care legislation . . . What are you doing? Toughen UP! W ran roughshod over this country and the world and you are continuing with much of his <profanity removed>ty legacy. I, and many of my friends say the same, will not keep backing you without the change we were promised.
