RE: BlockShopper.com's 1st Amend rights vs Privacy rights
To: Rep. Jane Harman
October 29, 2009
Dear Representative Harman,
I would like to call to your attention my deep concern over personal information that is now readily available through a simple internet search thanks to the business model of an online business BlockShopper.com. When you "Google" search my name or anyone name who owns real estate in certain major cities, up pops a link that has the name, address, a map & even street level photos of your property & even more, depending upon how much personal info is out in cyberland Many people are complaining that even pictures of them, names & ages of their children are being published by BlockShopper. Efforts to "opt out" have been rejected by the company, who claims that all info published is from public records. Please research BlockShopper & maybe you would agree that legislation to limit publishing personal info w/o permission by online companies is warranted. Thank you for attention to this matter.
