Health Care Bills

Rep. Frank Wolf

October 27, 2009

Dear Representative Wolf,
I trust that you have a very clear understanding of what the rash of proposed health bills contain and more importantly, what they mean for the citizens. There is nothing being reported which clearly, succinctly, or completely provides the details of what a bill means and impact to the citizens. I am looking for the factually supported statement that the bill provides health coverage for all citizens - aka -no citizen is denied health coverage. If there is a group of citizens not provided (if they do not take the coverage is another issue) health coverage - you and this government failed, and failed miserably! That was the number one reason for this effort - 46 million down to zero. If the health coverage does not provide for adequate (take care of the underinsured) health care - you and this government partially failed! If a supplemental Medicare health coverage policy is still needed - as AARP states will still be required -- you and this government partially failed! Why do we have supplemental insurance? The reason is the basic coverage is
not adequate. If supplemental insurance is still required, how have you addressed affordability? Additionally, if the government cannot clean-up the fraud, waste, and abuse in today's Medicare/Medicaid programs, how can anyone believe that it will in the future, or that the government can run an effective, efficient, and cost saving federal government health care program? The second main reason for health care reform is the cost. Please, no more speeches, charts, etc., depicting the rise in health costs. Everyone knows the health costs are rising - just as are other living expenses. Provide the citizens with factually supported ways the government can stabilize and lower health care costs across the board. If you in your position do not know by total cost the top fifteen most expensive medical costs for citizens in your district, and have no sound realistic, and implementable recommendations you should turn-off the light and go home.
