Mandates? then Open the Exchange & P.O., to all.

Dear Sirs:

First, we all owe a debt of gratitude to Harry Reid for his leadeship, as far as he went. he also need to follow up and twist Blue Dog arms radically (PULL their campaign support and committee positions if necessary!) to be sure of cloture (and closure) on this crucial matter to our economy as well as our very lives.

But we also need President Obama to take over at some point and really twist some Blue Dog arms, and champion the rest of the task, as follows:

The Exchanges, and the Public Option, MUST be available to ALL.
Otherwise the risk pool will be too small to be effective, or even survive - as shown by failures in MA and VT.

If you have mandates to buy insurance, you can NOT fail to offer all Americans access to affordable Insurance on the Exchange - INCLUDING the Public Option.

Anything else is a WINDFALL of Corporate Welfare to the Insurance Companies, and they will additionally raise rates even above the currently unaffordable (X10) level, to pass on the cost of other reforms.

It would also not even contain - much less REDUCE - Costs.
