H. Res. 847
To: Rep. Michael Castle
October 27, 2009
I support H. Res. 847. The government legislates on behalf of those who elected them to fulfill the needs of the American people. We elect them based on their determination to fulfill what we have asked for and expect them to carry out all legislation that benefits us to the max without bankrupting our pockets.
Sadly, due to the very partisan politics in Washington and the total disrespect and regard of the American people, Americans have lost trust in Washington to effectively legislate on our behalf. What we have seen in past bills is egregious spending issues not related to the benefit of the American people; pork barrel spending put in to be paid at our expense or provisions for special interest groups.
In this economy and world affairs it is prudent that our government be painfully dedicated to detail of health care reform. After the public uproar over HR 3200 and it's being open to public perusal House members lead by Nancy Pelosi have attempted to keep all negotiations behind closed doors, often shutting out the Republican Party. This is not fair politics or the intent of our Founding Fathers nor is it proper to shut out the American people. This bill affects every American person and family and our health and income. We are entitled to read the bill and express our concerns.
How sad and embarrassing that Washington has forgotten why they were elected and instead operate on fulfilling their own party agendas or personal agendas. Therefore, because Washington has gotten away from governing "for the people, by the people and of the people" this bill and all bills that affect every American life should be open to view whether on the internet or cable so that we can ensure that our government returns to serving us.
