I urge you to support a public option (or variation that creates more competition in the health care industry) in the upcoming health care vote. All Americans should have a choice in their health care providers just as you enjoy as a member of Congress and that I do as a retired Federal employee and Veteran. The idea that the government can not run effective health care programs is wrong. The Federal Government does a pretty good job running Medicare, VA Hospitals (for 40 million vets), and the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (which you may be a member yourself). A bit about me: I'm am new to Palm Springs and I'm an independent voter. I'm a fiscal conservative and socially liberal. I have voted both Republican and Democratic in the past. I didi vote for President Obama. I don't agree at all with the extreme right who seem to have taken over the Republican Party. If you want my vote, you'll have to be a little more more progressive and engaged with the needs of today's voters.
