I am writing because of an extreme frustration and injustice being forced on citizens across this country. This injustice comes from the banks that we taxpayers bailed out just this year. In particular Citi bank just recently sent notice to my wife and myself that our seperate credit cards that we have with them had changed the intrest rates to 29.99%. No reason was given. When I contacted them they just stated that they needed the higher rate to conduct business. No attempt was made to reveiw our past history with them just that we had the option to "opt out" and the credit card would be terminated once the balance is paid off.

While I am in a position to opt out many people are not and are force to pay these high rates and become trapped in a credit cycle that they can not get out from under. The banks should not be allowed to treat the taxpayer who are paying for the bail out they got this year this way. I am extremely frustrated because they is nothing I can really do about it. It just is not fair and certainly not something that makes me proud to bea an American.
