Subject:
Signing the Discharge Petition for HR 554

To:
Rep. Tom Perriello

October 16, 2009

Dear Congressman Tom Perriello,

I just saw the letter that you signed "in strong agreement with the intent of the proposal" for the Discharge Petition for HR 554. I think that I can appreciate the intended diplomacy among your colleagues in trying this route with the House Leadership. However, there comes a time when one must take a stand on one's principles. As this letter was written on October 5th, 2009 with no apparent effect on the House Leadership, I believe that it is time for you and the 22 other colleagues who "support the intent of t5his proposal" to get off the fence and sign the actual Discharge Petition for HR 554. Either you are for the 72 hour rule or you are not. Please take a stand for true transparency in government as you and the House Leadership have promised. Respectfully Submitted, VA 5th District voter.

Huddleston , VA
