Hate Crimes Bill

To:
Rep. Michael Turner

October 15, 2009

I approve of the military appropriations bill, but not the hate crimes Bill. The issue is that this bill may infringe on freedom of religion to teach homosexuality is wrong. If taught correctly, it would not induce hatred, but this bill will cause major concerns in the pulpit. This sets up a conflicting law. I also do not approve of riders, especially those that are not related to the main bill. This is just flat wrong, and alows Congress to hide their agenda.
