TAX CREDIT/SHORT SALE

Please extend this tax credit!!! We found a house in July and put an offer in and it was accepted. It is a "short sale" and all the paperwork was done and the bank approved our price but has yet to have "the negotiator sign off due to thousands of files on his/her desk". We were told today 11/13/09 that it will be pushed to at least Dec 09 and we will not be eligible for the tax credit! We have worked hard to save our $$ to become a homeowner and after being told we would close in 2 months (which have come and gone) we are looking at 2 more months before the bank will sign approval (AGAIN, verbal approval was given LAST month). It makes me so upset, the government didnt promise them their bailout money and make them wait mercilessly, it just doesn't seem fair!
