First Time Home-Buyers Credit

To:
Rep. Michael Castle

October 13, 2009

I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about this credit. I personally don't want my taxes going to someone to make their purchase of a home easier. No one was there for my husband or I when we went for a loan and got a 11.8% interest rate in 1888. We've worked hard to get what we have. But, then again we have a pretty strong work ethic. I fear that by giving people the easier way they won't put in the effort or learn the lessons we did. We've already seen so many abuses of the system, I have friends and acquantances that are on disability and unemployment that really shouldn't be. We get into arguments all the time. We need to do things that encourage people to work, to help our country, not to get whatever they can from those of us who pay the taxes. I'd rather give $8,000 of my taxes to my youngest daughter to help her get a house.
