Honorable public servant,
I plead with you to please review all data concerning CO2 and carbon emissions and the effects they have on the environment. Many studies, which have since been discredited, are still being used to promote the global warming cause. It is interesting to note is that it is no longer being called global warming, environmentalists are now calling it climate change because scientists have proved that the world has been cooling since the year 2000. Please look at actual historic analysis of temperatures, not just selective samples that skew the results. The earth is always in cooling and warming cycles and the warm cycles have usually been boom times for humans and the earth. Another interesting fact to point out is that CO2 is vital to the majority of plant life and the very small amount that is created by humans is so insignificant that to assume that this is the correlation to global warming may be vastly incorrect. I am all for improving the environment but I truly believe that giving the EPA the authority to regulate carbon with a cap and trade like system or passing a cap and trade legislation would be a grave mistake for this country and the world. Please also look into why Australia and France recently voted down Cap and Trade legislation in their countries and see if the reasoning they used to make their decision is applicable to the U.S. Also, please look at what the Cap and Trade program did in Spain. I don't think that is the kind of change we want in the U.S. right now. As a public servant it is your duty to be fair and impartial when evaluating data that will be used to make such drastic changes. Please make sure to consider alternate views and look at alternate data as this legislation or granting EPA the power to regulate CO2 could cripple the U.S. for a long time. Also, please consider the economic ramifications of these proposals and not just look at the projected numbers through rosy glasses. I appreciate your time and consideration on this important issue.
