As you consider energy saving and carbon impact on the environment, keep in mind the findings of Matthew J. Kotchen and Laura E. Grant in their paper which MEASURED the energy loss due to daylight saving time.

Wouldn't it be better to simply not generate 4% of the energy and save that fuel instead of producing more carbon dioxide with it than to use a complicated scheme to hide the waste?
