Following the September 11 attack the nation wildly grasped at any means to identify and track potential terrorists even at the risk of losing basic freedoms. The Patriot Act underscores how easily a frightened people can be manipulated into accepting the promise of security by a government we trust. It also illustrates how easily personal rights can be lost. You have the ability now to reform the Patriot Act: To protect and serve the honest, hard working people of these Great United States of America without stripping away our Constitutional rights and the protections the Bill of Rights affords us. Thank you for doing the right thing.
