To: Representatives George Miller and Nancy Pelosi
The Patriot Act at the very least should be reformed. It really should NOT be renewed. I was raised by a father whose career was short circuited by the McCarthy hearings and the "House Un-American Activities Commmittee." He was working for the government in the Department of Reclamation and was asked to sign a "loyalty oath." He refused to do so on the grounds that such a request was against what his country stood for and, indeed, the request was UN-AMERICAN! He was dismissed from his position, and I'm positive that he would be turning over in his grave at the thought of any "PATRIOT ACT".
