Sir,
I urge you to support President Obama's health care plan. I am a retired member of the United States Armed Forces with 20 years of service. I have seen how the public health care systems work in other countries. It can be made to work in this country. But it will not if the elected officials and leaders of the Republican Party continue to fight the President at every turn and conduct themselves in the shameful manner that Joe Wilson did. I am appalled at his outburst and ashamed to be a member of the Republican Party.
Joe Wilson's apology is NOT restitution for his uncalled for display of hooliganism. His apology is merely the " say anything do anything to get the heat off me" act that my Republican Party Leaders do these days. That man should be censured for six months or a year.
Today, I find myself considering changing my Party affiliation. More and more with every political issue each day I see my Republican elected officials ignoring their constituents wishes and needs. Our elected officials DO NOT LISTEN to what we say. They just treat us "like red headed step children" and vote on issues and pass resolutions / bills as THEY see fit.
Sir, the people of the United States want this heath care reform and need it badly. I could not in good conscious ask you to blindly "jump on the bandwagon" on this plan. By all means, do your job, if something is questionable or just plain wrong for the American citizen then propose something that will correct it. Look for a compromise. Mind you, if its questionable or just plain wrong for the profit making Hospitals, Doctors, Health Insurance Companies, Drug Makers..etc then too bad. That is NOT what I am giving you license to act as the agent in my behalf. To look out for and protect their interest, No Sir.
I want to thank for you time and I hope you are listening. Again I ask you to get in support of the President's Health Care Plan and quit telling me what you wont and will never support. I would appreciate an acknowledgment of my concerns.
