Forcht Wade Correctional Center

To:
Governor Bobby Jindal
Rep. James Morris
Sen. Sherri Cheek

August 27, 2009

I am writing in regards to the possibility of privatizing or closing of Forcht Wade Correctional Center. These options will affect many of the residents residing in and around Keithville, Gloster, Stonewall and Mansfield. If these jobs are privatized then many people have to find part time jobs which will not be possible due to the hours they will be working. If you close this institution then many will be forced to file for bankruptcy and or move from their homes to other areas.

Forcht Wade not only impacts employees it also impacts local business' that sale food and gas items to them before and after work hours. If this institution is closed many business' will falter.

I know that in this day and age that job security is not like it used to be. I ask that you review this situation to make the best choice for this area. Forcht Wade is a viable partner in this community and has been part of this community for a long time and it will make a huge negative impact on this community and sournding areas if it is closed or privatized.

Keithville , LA
